في مطالعة الكتب المقدسة
1- يجب أن تبتغى في الكتب المقدسة، الحقيقة، لا الفصاحة ، وان يقرأ الكتاب المقدس كله ، بالروح الذي أوحاه.
فلنطلب إذن بالأولى ، في الأسفار المقدسة، الفائدة لا براعة الكلام.
كذلك علينا أن نرتاح لقراءة الكتب التقوية البسيطة، إرتياحنا لقراءة الكتب السامية والبليغة.
لا يوقفنك شأن المؤلف: أمن كبار الادباء هو أم من صغارهم؟ بل فليحملك على المطالعة حب الحقيقة الخالصة.
لا تسل عمن قال ، بل انظر إلى ما يقال.
2- الناس يزولون ، أما (( صدق الرب ، فيدوم إلى الأبد)).
إن الله يكلمنا بطرق مختلفة، ومن غير محاباة للوجوه.
كثيرا ما يكون الفضول عائقا لنا، في مطالعة الكتب المقدسة، إذ نريد التفهم والجدال، حيث ينبغي العبور ببساطة.
إن شئت أن تجني نفعا، فاقرأ بتواضع وبساطة وإيمان، ولا تبتغ أبدا سمعة العلم.
إرتح إلى السؤال، واصغ صامتا إلى أقوال القديسين، ولا تسوك أمثال الشيوخ، فإنه لم ينطق بها عبثا.
